Starting my OSCP journey…v2.00

An old boss of mine, a well known red teamer, recommended I go for the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification. I did some research on it, got intrigued, worked with my job to go for it, and I started my 60 days of the course in Dec 2019.

I thoroughly enjoyed going through the videos, book, and labs.

I knew the material was outdated, but I learned a lot very quickly and got a lot out of it. I started following /r/oscp, reading others’ experiences, and got geared up to take the daunting 24-hour test.

I psyched myself out. Flat out. Read blurb after blurb of horrifying experiences. People that studied day and night for months and still failed. I took my time, made sure I knew my shit, and got myself ready to take my test. Then I get an email “New PWK course materials now available!”

Cool. After years of running on the same material, Offensive Security updated their material. There is something along the lines of 8x the content, and as a lover of knowledge, I got excited! I pushed back my test date and now I’m going through the materials again.

As I read through the book and watch the videos, I’ll be creating videos and blog posts about what I’ve learned to help reinforce my knowledge. If you’re into hacking, follow along.

Wish me luck for my test in Sept 2020!
